Small Business Marketing Ideas
for Email Marketing
Email marketing
is a relatively inexpensive small business marketing method that many small businesses use. In order for email to be effective, an opt-in email list is necessary. Unsolicited commercial email is considered SPAM, and it is irritating to the receivers.
The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003
sets forth requirements for businesses that send commercial email and penalties for violators. Before sending commercial email, make sure that your email correspondence complies with the law.
Stay out of the junk mail file by building an opt-in list…
To get website visitors to sign-up to receive email from you, it is best to offer an ezine (which is a newsletter), or an online course. You can do your email marketing through the ezine content or through the course. Offering an incentive, like a free report or a free eBook, is a valid and effective way to encourage visitors to sign-up or “opt-in” to receive commercial email from your company which will improve your small business marketing efforts.
In your thank you page, be sure to ask the subscriber to add your email address to their white list so that they can receive email from you and to prevent it from being directed into their junk mail file.
