What is a RSS Reader?
A RSS reader makes it possible for you to receive and read RSS feeds. Feeds are just wonderful for getting instant, easy accessible updates to the headlines of your favorite websites or news sites.
Readers come in several formats and are web based, desktop based or mobile based. Choosing one is not a tremendous task because most of them are free or offer free trials. If you don’t like the one you that choose, you can easily convert to different RSS aggregator with little effort and in most cases, no costs.
Why would I want to subscribe to RSS feeds?
Feeds can keep you to up-to-date on the website content that is posted by your websites, deliver headlines from the news to your homepage, and just keep you abreast of what is going on without being invasive.
For instance, here at Website Content Providers, we have
a blog
that updates website visitors on updates to our website through a RSS application. When we post a new web page the title will appear in your RSS reader and if you are interested, you can quickly and easily view the new web page.
We also post what we call “bloglets” when we are running a special or when we find awesome deals that our website visitors might be interested in when we are surfing the web.
If you are into news, but don’t really have the time to browse news sites, a reader will make it possible for the headlines to come to you. Pretty nifty technology!
What RSS aggregators are available?
Honestly, there are tons of them. The first one that I tried was iGoogle and I absolutely love it, so I haven’t tried any others.
