Major Concern: Finding Free Web Site Content for My Website

I am not too excited about free web site content myself; however, I know that many of my website readers are interested in obtaining free content. My role is to help you to fulfill your needs, not to make decisions for you.

I am citing sources where you can get free content, although I do not recommend it.

I have never used free content for my website because I feel that it diminishes the quality of a website as well as hurting the search engine ranking. I prefer to use custom-made content that says pretty much what I want it to say. My content is a reflection on me and I want total control of it.

If you aren't a control freak (like I am) and you aren't worried about the content hurting your search engine rating (like I do) or being a risk to your reputation (another personal problem), here are some tips for getting free web site content…

  • Look for free news feeds.
  • If you just want to provide new content for your visitors to read and you are not into blogging, free news feeds are an option.

  • Consider RSS feeds.
  • If your website visitors are not necessary interested in the news, you can chose a RSS feed that they are likely to be interested in. There are a lot of feeds that are industry related and would be of interest to your readers. The downside of that is, the feeds may advertise competitors on your website.

  • Search article directories
  • There are a bunch of article directories that let you republish articles of your choice, or they provide them in your selected category through a feed.

  • Explore ezine article directories
  • Ezine article directories contain articles that are written by professionals in a certain field. In most cases, you can publish the unchanged article without paying royalties.

From time to time, if I find articles that are helpful to my readers and are written by an expert, I will consider republishing it in my newsletter, but never on my website. I realize that it is a personal choice whether or not to reuse content. If you have your mind set on finding free web site content, I hope that this article has helped you.

If you have decided to stay away free content and you want to get custom-made content, consider hiring a content writer to fulfill your needs. We give free quotes on developing custom content.
